Who is Mary Mischka?
Whole30 Certified Coach
Reiki Master Teacher
Holistic Health & Wellness Coach
I am a Whole30 Certified Coach, Reiki Master Teacher, and Holistic Health & Wellness Coach with over a decade of experience in the wellness, lifestyle, beauty, and personal development industries. My eclectic educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree with a Focus Area of Mental Health and Wellness from DePaul University, Health and Wellness Coaching Certification from the Soma Institute, and a Cosmetology education from the Aveda Institute in Chicago. I have also studied Reiki, Healing Touch, Accessing the Akashic Records, Developing Intuition, Crystals, and Tarot. With years of experience coaching and training hundreds of individuals in the art and magic of thriving, I know that wellness is about more than battling stress, symptoms, or illness. Every human is unique, has the ability to heal within, and has the power to create the sparkling life they dream to live. Using a combination of wellness dimensions in my coaching and training practices, I tailor my services to meet every individual uniquely where they are; I strive to support others in a kind, nourishing, and joyful way.
Many years ago, my New Year’s resolution was to “get my sparkle back”. I have no idea where I came up with this idea, but one thing was for sure: throughout my 20s my sparkle had dulled in a way that made me feel disconnected from my whole self. My body: puffy, aching, swollen, covered in eczema, and growing larger by the moment. My brain: foggy, distracted, non-existent attention span, and blue, despite a very intense cocktail of medications intended to make me “better”. My spirit: disconnected from my purpose, intuition, beliefs, and dreams. I was using food to numb myself, battling overwhelming anxiety, and my vitality was depleted.

Little did I know that this journey to untap my sparkle would last much longer than the New Year’s resolution season, but rather the span of over a decade. The beauty of untapping one’s sparkle is that it is an ongoing path, and the sparkle shimmers in new ways as each layer of you is untapped and peeled back.
Over the years, my journey has included the discovery that whole food is medicine, plants have healing powers, and I can make choices every day that will boost both wellness and joy in my life. In my learning about my own food sensitivities and allergies, healing from small intestine bacteria overgrowth (SIBO) and histamine intolerance, removing psychiatric medication from my life, and facing my food addictions head on, I am untapping my sparkle. When I first began this process, I was seeking to “get my sparkle back”. What I have learned is that it was not that I needed to get something back, but rather that I was untapping a whole new version of me. I was coming home to the authentic, sparkling, whole human that I am. This process is ongoing for all humans, and we can choose to take it as far into our personal sparkling universe as we choose.
